What is real
Start with the published Ontario decision
This is a real residential project at 10 Paris Road in Brantford. The dispute concerned an as-built secondary stair serving the upstairs bedroom area.
This historical replay correctly uses O. Reg. 332/12, Article 9.8.4.5. For current new applications, the 2024 OBC has been mandatory since April 1, 2025 and the equivalent winder provision is Article 9.8.4.6.
2024 Ontario Building Code CompendiumThe decision publishes the address, project description, disputed stair configuration, code provisions, party positions, reasons, and outcome. The original drawings, photographs, Order to Comply, and full evidence package are not attached. CodeTrace labels its input as a reconstruction and does not present it as the original permit file.
